Scholas USA Launches First-Ever Awareness Campaign

— Commercial spots highlighting Pelota de Trapo educational program to air during Copa America 2024 —

MIAMI, FL — July 10, 2024 — (NOTICIAS NEWSWIRE) — Scholas USA, the US Chapter of Pope Francis’ global nonprofit organization Scholas Occurrentes, launched its first-ever awareness campaign with spots supporting its “Pelota de Trapo” initiative, a program aiming to unite youth through athletic, educational and leadership experiences. As of June 20th, viewers tuning in to watch Copa América 2024 on TelevisaUnivision’s platforms Univision and ViX will learn more about this empowering initiative during commercial breaks.

As witnessed by Pope Francis during his travels, kids find ways to prioritize play, even if it requires pulling together rags and different materials that combined create a ball. These rag balls are a symbol of the resourcefulness, creativity and unstoppable joy that kids all maintain. Using sports as a universal language, with “Pelota de Trapo” (translates to Rag Ball), teenage students come together for an educational experience that trains future leaders, who can then facilitate imaginative play in their own communities.

“We’re proud of creating a space where children can experience the power of sports as a unifier for young people,” said José María Del Corral, Global Director of Scholas Occurrentes.

Designed to inspire positive action, the TV spots were created pro bono by CCOMGROUP, Inc., an award-winning multicultural advertising and communications agency based in Miami.
